Injury Couch over - I hope!

I’ve been a bit laid up over the past couple of weeks with a calf “issue” after my W9R1 high at my first Parkrun.

Anyway, I thought I’d go to the gym to try some low-impact stuff to try to maintain fitness while the calf is still complaining.

After a bit on the bike and the rowing machine I tried the treadmill for the first time with every intention of walking. Calf felt good “Dare I try a little jogette?” thought I.

I set the treadmill to 🐌 mode and had a go. All good past the 15 minute mark. “Dare I continue?”

Michael Johnson was telling me how well I was doing so on I went, the calf felt fine at the slower pace and the treadmill is definitely more forgiving than my usual running on concrete paths. All good.

The last 5 minutes involved me smiling like a maniac in the realisation that I was about to finish W9R2 - and I DID.

So pleased to be back running (who is this person C25k has produced?) and can see that graduation in sight again, even if it does mean another trip to the gym for the treadmill. I’ll see how I feel in a couple of days.

Gosh I feel good!!!

Glad that you are feeling better, you can complete the course by running your graduation run on the treadmill at the gym. 😊 🏃

Thank you. Yes, I think the treadmill might be safest for now. I do look forward to those early morning runs outside, though. 😀🏃‍♀️

Nice to get that runner’s high isn’t it? You’re nearly there now. Really well done! 👏👏👏

Oh yes indeed it is. I genuinely can’t believe I’ve done this and seem to have turned myself from zero exercise to being desperate to get out there. Amazing what this programme does!
