Hi all. Decided to give this another go (when I get back from summer holiday!). Need to get fit & lose some weight. Actually managed the whole 5k a few years ago, but suffered badly with back pain after every run. I'm willing to hear any suggestions to help negate this painful problem.

Are you running tall? I used to get back pain sometimes- I was looking down at the ground. If you look straight ahead, that might help? Also they say imagine you’ve got a balloon attached to your head pulling your head up. Maybe some back strengthening exercises might help.

Thanks for your reply Tasha99. I may get my gait & posture checked....but I think a lot has to do with slipped disc surgery a number of years ago. And as a result I have a weak core, so maybe some gentle core exercises at the same time or on rest days may help?......
