Hi, I’ve just completed my 2nd run using the couch to 5k app. I feel good and although I think I could probably skip and go to week 2 am I right in sticking with the plan?

Yes, you’re right to stick to the plan. Your starting fitness may well make the early runs easier, but it’s not all about fitness, it’s also about conditioning your muscles to running gradually... skipping runs increases the injury risk. Good decision, and a great decision to start this plan too. Welcome to the forum... enjoy your journey.

Thanks UFNM. I didn’t think about muscle conditioning.

Well done on starting! Great that you are not finding it too hard. As UNM says, best stick to the plan and also make sure you have a day’s rest in between runs. I did the C25k every other day and I found that rhythm worked well for me. I sometimes felt I could run for longer but stuck to the time planned and then was rearing to go again next run. Enjoy!

I have generally been careful with my fitness but now think as I am the wrong side of 50 I need to start looking after myself in ernest. C25K that’s good mate maybe one day I’ll be doing 25k runs but I’ll stick to this plan first. Unfortunately I have housemaids knee (due to spending years on my knees) I’m a joiner

Ha, C25k is the abbreviation for couch to 5km (although really to 30’). I’m not running 25km yet!! If you have a dodgy knee (which I do too), then supportive shoes will make a big difference and also look at the nhs website for knee exercises for runners.
