Well first park run complete. Amazed by how many people over took me but I didn’t end up last so for me that was an amazing achievement. And beat my best time.

Nice that you enjoyed your first parkrun this morning, I am running my first parkrun next Saturday, it is advisable to start at the back, that way you are not likely to be passed by so many people. 😊 🏃

I just slipped in at the front as I wasn’t sure for my first time. I was being taken over left right and centre but just kept to one side so people could pass me. And this was on a narrow pathway. Maybe next time I will start more towards the back as the front runners move off pretty quickly.

Hi Tonj. Just posted this on another thread but will put it here too as it’s relevant:

The advantage of starting at the back is that there’s far less jostling for a good position. The disadvantage is that it’s a little dispiriting to be behind everyone else! For this reason I choose the middle: you’re not in the way of the serious runners, but you do feel like you’re more a part of the event.
