Today I decided to use map my run to get an accurate reflection of my distance and I’m gutted in 25 minutes I’m only travelling 3.02 km, is this really behind what it should be?
I’ve really enjoyed running and I’ve really been bitten by the bug and I’ve signed up for a 10K in November and a half marathon in March and now I’m thinking my times may be so slow I won’t be able to finish.
I don’t want to discourage myself out of this
Please help

Your only traveling at 3.02km? Bet you couldn’t do that at the beginning of your journey let alone run for 25minutes. I think sometimes we forget how far we’ve come. Take the pressure off, just enjoy your runs without the added pressure that you need run faster or further. That will come with time as you develop your running legs. Congratulations on completing week 7👍🏻
Most people don’t run 5k by graduation, so don’t fret. I graduated in February and I’ve never done more than 3k yet, but I have short legs and I’m carrying a lot of extra weight, and I’m building up steadily rather than driving myself into injuries and resentment. Keep taking it slow and steady, and as your body gets used to it, you’ll find you gradually get a little faster and go a little further every time 😀
You are running for 25 minutes non stop that's hell of a lot more than you were doing 7 weeks ago . You should be so pleased . Distance and pace will get better after graduating without you even noticing . Good luck 😊
I've just finished week 6 and decided to turn on tracking for today's 25min run. I was just under 3k, which is kind of what I suspected by my slow pace. I think I have the rest of my life to worry about whether I get to 5k or not - but honestly, I thought I'd give up if I could happily run for 5 mins, so I'm willing to take the 3k now and then maybe work towards 3.5k.
Don't let the speed/distance put you off - you have a lot of time still till November and think where you were 7 weeks ago and how many weeks you have to work up on distance.
