Loved the treadmill, no longer will I be calling it a dreadmill, the man in shop set it at 6km, with the new shoes on I felt I could have ran a 5K in 30 minutes, however, he switched it off after two minutes. 😊 πŸƒ.

backintimeGraduateβ€’ in reply toAlMorr

Yes, I think treadmills have a bad reputation, but I have found mine very useful during allergy season :D

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduateβ€’ in reply tobackintime

I liked that treadmill very much, he set it at 6kh, although I was only on it with the new shoes on for two minutes I felt that I could have stayed on it for another 28 minutes, then it would have been a 30 minutes 5K..

backintime profile image
backintimeGraduateβ€’ in reply toAlMorr

mine only has a speed setting, not pace, so if I set mine at 6km I would take 50 minutes to run 5km lol

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduateβ€’ in reply tobackintime

I am querying that 6km a hour, should that not be 6 minutes a kilometer???! Whatever it was, it definitely was a 6, he said at that pace I would have ran a 30 minute 5K, of course, maybe after 15 minutes I would have slowed down a bit, who knows. 😊

backintime profile image
backintimeGraduateβ€’ in reply toAlMorr

Haha, yes, maybe that one was pace (in minutes) per km, mine is km/h

I've just done week 7 run 2, so six more runs until I book myself in for gait analysis, so far my Sketchers have worked wonders, getting me through C25K all but twice now plus extra runs.

They look like nice shoes.

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduateβ€’ in reply toLeeU

Thanks LeeU, they are very nice, not long now until you graduate, after you graduate get a gait analysis and a nice pair of new running shoes.

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate

PS. That should be ANTI blister socks

I do hope so as well Ang, you hope to get new running shoes soon, I recommend you go to a good sports shop, they give good advice. 😊 πŸƒ

Lovely shoes Al, you will run like the wind in them😊Just out of interest, how long does it take for gait analysis as I promised myself proper shoes for graduation but not had time yet, do I need to wear leggings and my own trainers to get it done?

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduateβ€’ in reply tonotquiteretired

I got the gait analysis within 3 minutes of entering the shop, the man asked me my normal shoe size, which is size 7, he then asked me to take my shoes AND socks off, go onto a treadmill, start it up slowly and gradually quicken it up to 6kh for around a minute, then showed me a video, sometimes in slow motion of my style of running, pronation, neutral, asked me to try on several shoes a size bigger than my normal 7, I then chose the shoes in the photo from several, finally, I was on the treadmill running with those shoes for a couple of minutes, altogether I was in the shop for about 35 minutes. 😊 πŸƒ

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduateβ€’ in reply toUnfitNoMore

Thanks UNFITNOMORE, my left foot is a little sore when I run at the moment, probably caused by my last 33.55 minute 5K run last Sunday in ordinary trainers, so high time I bought proper running shoes. 😊 πŸƒ

UnfitNoMore profile image

I’d say so! I’ve managed to wear a pair out now, so may be shopping for some more on Friday!

PS I sort of just thought to myself that I should do something to celebrate a year since I graduated, why not go for a gait analysis and buy proper running shoes, I just did that.

Phwoar!!! The shoes, not the legs! Do I spot a Runner’s Tan? 🀣 What make are the socks?

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduateβ€’ in reply toMuddledGardener

I still do a lot of cycling, aways in shorts, my legs are tanned because of that and probably due to running as well.

The socks, which I bought two pairs are

"Twin skin Unisex Anklet Ultimate Anti - Blister socks" will only wear the shoes when running, but wear the socks at other times as well, especially if I am going long walks in the winter months.

Nice trainers Alan and you have got the next ones up from the ghost 11 that I have I hope you got a bargain πŸ˜‰

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduateβ€’ in reply toKevtrev

Yes Kev, I asked for the ghost 11 shoes you recommended but the man in the shop told me that the Glycerin 16 shoes were the next ones up and a slight improvement on the ghost 11, they cost Β£135 BUT I got a bargain and paid Β£99.

Kevtrev profile image
Kevtrev

That’s a bargain Alan see what happens June July is best to buy to get a bargain I wish I waited and did that but I can’t complain about my trainers they are so comfy next time which I hope I get a few years at least out of these ones and then I might get next ones up the glycerin ones but by the time I get another pair they will have other models out are they a neutral shoe I take it then Alan πŸ˜‰

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduateβ€’ in reply toKevtrev

Yes, pronation or whatever you call it was neutral regarding my new shoes.

lovely shoes, nice legs... and do I see a 'runners' tan line at the sock mark!!!??? : )

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduateβ€’ in reply toprimaballerina

Yes, there is a 'runners' tan there on my legs, it's more to do with cycling as I still cycle, always in shorts, but now also with running as well.
