So I'm looking at the forecast for Monday when I'm scheduled to start W3 - argghh Thunder! So I'm going to do it tomorrow instead - why, all of a sudden, do I feel scared of 3 mins 😱

Just take it nice and slowly. Don’t try and set any speed records. 😁 you can do this! 👍

Play music with a good bass track and the thunder will fit right in. Is it Beethoven's 5th that has those big booms ?

Or the 1812 overture would fit right in with those big cannon bangs

Or Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries.

Slow and steady, you will run week 3 with no problems.

I just wonder what happens if a thunderstorm ⛈ with 🌩 lightning starts during a parkrun, is it cancelled or do the just carry on running.

I’m thinking same for Sports Day ... 😩

AlMorr profile image

Sports day would be cancelled if there was a lot of lightning around.

Indeed- and it would be me having to make that decision...

Oh no!💦

Suspect they would carry on - not like golf when you have a bag full of lightening conductors😂😂

Thank you - might ask my daughter to come with me, she's a half marathon runner but very sympathetic to her old ma's capabilities😉

Haha I know !! Due to start W4R3 on Monday but may have to take an extra rest day. I’m all for running in the rain but the thunder and lightning we have forecast may be pushing it !!! 💦⚡️

Yep - with you on that one, bringing mine forward to today😀

Have you read the FAQ blog posts they are invaluable in the early weeks and will ensure that you stay injury free I can keep on running and manage those longer runs. It’s the best piece of advice you will get throughout this journey

I thought I definitely wouldn’t be able to run for 3 minutes so decided I’d walk when I’d run out of steam- I was amazed that I did do the 3 minutes! Good luck!
