week 6 run 3

After getting to week 6 last year and not continuing and support from this forum I started again at the beginning and have been working though the programme and managed to get to week 6 again , I found the first 2 runs difficult so repeated them and now feeling a bit freaked about run 3 . I managed w5r3 but did notice that my heart rate was around maximum calculated for 90% (I'm 60 it was 160 ). Ive just returned home which means that all runs have an incline and just wondering if anyone else finds their heart rate is running above the 80% level for so long - dont know if this is just distraction because the run seems so long !

thanks

Chris

Heart rate zone are an approximate. My maximum is 188 and non of the zones ever go up as high as my heart rate does. 😀.Running uphill will cause it to be a bit higher. Week six is notorious at catching people out so there is a lot going on there. I’m sure your third run will be fine, slow down if you start to struggle, maybe look to see if you can do it without hills as well.

Thanks - I did the run trying to go slowly but the uphill bit did catch me out and heart rate just the same as when I thought I was flat out !! I am going to try and f a flatter route - thanks - the heart rate thing was just niggling me and I think making me delay the run - so going to ignore it for a while 🙏
