I have a bone to pick with everyone on here, and also this running malarkey.
Last night, I didn’t get to bed until about 11:30. And it’s YOUR fault, because I was on here, reading about you lot. THEN, I couldn’t get to sleep, despite having done a 25 minute run earlier in the evening.
You see, all I can think about now, is bloody running and things connected with running! What have you lot done to me??? I was tired when I went to bed, but I was thinking about all the posts I’d read on here, running shoes, jackets and socks, plus remembering my own run.
Nobody told me before I started, that this thing could become an obsession. It’s no use telling people it’s addictive AFTER they’ve started! It’s too late then!
I think C25K should offer counselling to victims of running obsession. Free. After all, it’s their fault. And yours. Rant over.
Never change, peeps! 🤣🤣🤣

yep we have defo been possessed, I should be ironing and sorting stuff out before grandsons come in the morning but thought I wud av a quik check of the posts n see what folks are up to😂🙈
I used to call my tech team (also of three) one by one until one of them is willing to solve my tech issue. It usually takes them 2 seconds, 1 click. 😂
Haha...to add to your complaint, running and you all spoiled my lunch !
I had someone take me out for lunch, I dressed up nice, skirt, stillettos, etc. 10 minutes walk and all I could think about was if these shoes were going to make my legs ache for running tomorrow morning and then I refused alcohol cos I was running tomorrow morning. And I talked a lot about the benefits of running lol.
My name is BackInTime and I need Runners Anonymous
So sorry about that MuddledGardener, you have caught the running bug 🐛 and I regret to say there is NO cure 😂. But some advice, go running but DO. NOT take your Smartphone into the bedroom, that way at least you will be able to get a decent night's sleep. 😊 Read all those running posts BEFORE you go to bed. Set a time limit, say 10.30 pm, then bed.
I DID read them downstairs! But it just sets my mind whirring with thoughts and ideas! I think people should stop posting after 9 o’clock, then I’d stand a better chance of getting to sleep! 😁
We have posts from all over the world but the majority here on C25K are from the UK, if it was just the UK there wouldn't be many posts after 11 BST., I admit there are not many posts sent from 0000 to 0700 BST.
I have been running this week "nif100 " last week I ran the final 35 minute run of the Stepping stones podcasts with Laura, C25K +Stamina podcast, on Saturday it was a 5K in 52 minutes, improved that time to 38 minutes on Wednesday morning and hopefully next Sunday to around 35/34 minutes, I have got the running bug as well but it's under control in my case, I switch off at 10.30 pm😊
I’ve just hobbled in after the 2nd run of week5 ..I think stubbornness is needed for this one 🤪 the best thing was I thought there was another 5 min run to do but nooo just a 5 min warm down walk so that helped ! Well done muddledgardner ..it does become addictive so be warned 😳
When you signed up to the forum you were sent a link to the guide to the plan. When you first posted on the forum I sent you a link to the guide to the plan.
The penultimate paragraph in that guide is headed in capital letters THE ADDICTION WARNING AND DISCLAIMER
...........you were warned, but recklessly continued............ don't blame us!!!
Oh I love it - that has made me laugh! I agree though - spend far too much time looking at this forum! What run are you on btw? Think you're similar to me - I'm starting week 8 tomorrow x
Your post is excellent. I’m addicted too. Very miserable if unable to run on a run day. Focussed on running on non-run days. Talk a lot about running. Even left mess on my desk at work today just to get home to run! Will prob endure the wrath of the cleaner tomorrow!! But hey, I’ve had a run!!
When I've met people from here we've all gotten on famously. All from such different backgrounds with different interests and skills and hobbies. And all united by a love of running (and cake!).
Love it! Plenty of worse addictions to have. Now I'm off to fill in my running spreadsheet, read the latest copy of Runners' World and prep my gear for parkrun tourism!
True, all of it true. But it’s well known that the British don’t complain. And your name suggests a very British gardening obsession.... So: tough luck, MuddledGardener. You’ll have to live with it like the rest of us. 😄 Welcome to the Addicted Group! 💕
I am exactly the same! It's taken over my life, my social diary is arranged around my runs! I really love it though, I feel like I have a purpose, I like feeling this busy xx Prior to this I felt like I needed to fill my free time up with something, now I have found it.
Yes. It is called CRAPAS and you’ve got it bad. C25K Running and Posting Addiction Syndrome. The only cure is to graduate from C25K, transfer to the Bridge to 10k sister site (where you get BADASS) but we’ll tell you about that later...
Its gone ten thirty and i need to be up early for work tomorrow but still thought it was a good idea to peep on here first! I have just read every single comment on this post and lost another ten minutes 🙈
Im with you ! As you go on you’ll want to claim against Parkrun for the same reason! It has interrupted my Sat lie in for weeks now. When i started C25k in Jan i did not expect this !!
I know what you mean, last thing at night, first thing in the morning, it just goes on.... my amazon account tells the story, loving lycra, and lots of running gadgets on the wish list, HELP ME! 😲🤣🏃♀️
Ha ha, I know just what you mean. Here I am just checking out the posts before going to bed. In late after helping my adult daughter with her studies and just couldn’t resist. It’s nearly 1am 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’ve been on here for a year, and I’ve never heard of a treatment programme... I think we are all chronically addicted. If course there should be a seal on the box of running shoes. “Warning: Lacing these can be addictive and may seriously improve your health”
This is brilliant! And I feel your pain, I love reading all the posts and comments!! I'm sitting here now, "working at home" waiting for a report to run... That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! I'm either on here, looking at running posts on Instagram or looking at buying running leggings... Running leggings!!! Ha! I've changed...
