I’m starting W8 this week - W8?! I’m pleasantly surprised and chuffed with myself 🤪 lol! I wanted to challenge myself but three things at once? as I’m hoping to start this week’s runs with a local social running club (tomorrow) and I’ve signed up for parkrun (hopefully starting Sat)
It’s going to throw my routine out for W9 (my days have been Tue, Thu or Fri and Sun) but I realised this am I don’t care!! (My Tues were gone anyway due to temp extra hrs in work to help out)
Good luck to all of you on your running journeys whatever stage you’re at, as we’re all awesome and can and will continue to do this 🤗 x

Good luck with your new week, sound like a challenge. Take it slow and steady with the running club and Parkrun on both of them it is easier to get carried away and push yourself. Most of all have fun. Rfc x
Well I’ve attended the club, enjoyed and though I had to walk for a bit pretty chuffed with myself! The club were welcoming and some even stayed behind to cheer ‘home’ the stragglers like myself (which I was the only 1 lol!) There’s always a leader at the back for the slower ones and I felt that whoever is at the back are happy to go at the slowest pace (which imo is a good thing)
I guess the point of this post is, even if it’s just for the social aspect of and when you feel ready (and want to as there’s nothing that says you have to) look for a friendly club - if they’re a good grp they’ll look after & encourage you but not be pushy with no pressure to attend every session 🤗 x
I enjoyed but disappointed with my time - a few of my fellow club members that I met Wed stayed behind and cheered me which was quite touching and said I’d done well, so guess I’m doing my usual of being too hard on myself!
There are positives I can take away from it and if I put it into perspective I had done 2x5ks in 4 days (until Wed I’d never run that far and never thought I could). Also I’d had to walk more than I’d have liked (it was damp and my asthma was making me cough) so overall I am pretty pleased with myself despite the time 🤪🤔
