Nearly fell off the treadmill!!

W5R2 for me today - nearly fell off the treadmill when I saw I had to do 2 lots of 8 minutes! I thought Michael Johnson definitely had his weeks mixed up somehow as my jog on Monday was 5 minute spells but alas he was right! I managed to finish it though which I was really pleased with, especially as I seem to have developed a niggling knee injury. It wasn’t pretty or fast but I managed it, despite people on either side of me running like a swarm of angry bees were chasing them 🐝😳, I just carried on and focussed on what I was doing. Don’t care what they thought - I’m doing this for me and just going to keep going - slow and steady 🐒 Hope everyone else is well and enjoying the journey πŸ˜€

Well done for staying on! And well done on completing the run!

I always feel a bit self conscious when you have Mo Farrah to your left and Usain Bolt to your right but I honestly think they are so focused on their own run that they wouldn't even notice little old me plodding along!

Thank you and indeed! They do their thing and I do mine. Each time I go I feel a little less self conscious and a little more positive as I’m proving to myself I CAN do it and hopefully you will too πŸ˜€

Thank you so much. I never thought I would get this far at all but everyone is so helpful and encouraging on here. W1R1 and W1R2 I was a wreck and I can honestly say doing the 5 and then the 8 minutes today wasn’t anywhere near as bad as that. I look at my feet when I’m jogging several times a session and cannot believe they are my feet, honestly! You will smash your first 5 minutes I’m sure and you have done so well to get this far too. You will be so proud of yourself when you’ve done it. Do let me know how you get on πŸ˜€

Well done you...maybe an outside run would take the pressure off...πŸ˜‰

Thank you..I started off outside but kept coming across dog walkers and groups of youths and being as overweight as I am, I thought the gym would be the lesser of the two evils as people there would hopefully be concentrating on their own workout. I will be going back out when I’m able to manage the workouts easier though πŸ‘πŸ»

Oh gosh...well you take it all in your own time and when you are ready... maybe there may be somewhere less bothersome to run, and don't ever feel self conscious... you are awesome!

Brilliant attitude Littlegem2107. ✌

Thank you..I’ve not been looking at them until I’m about to start which was why I was in shock earlier-thought it would be more of the 5 minutes! Whatever the third run for this week and beyond is I’m just gonna give it my best shot and if I can’t finish it, will try the next time until I can πŸ‘πŸ»

You will finish because the plan works. Go go go! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

You will finish it because the program works (as madmother says). It’s also the run most likely to put a very big smile on your face.

I'm back on the treadmill thanks to horrendous hayfever and know what you mean about the super runners. Mind you they start huffing and puffing quickly whilst I'm jogging along happily, may take me longer to do the same distance but I still get there.
