I had my W9R3 on the 31st May. First thing after, I’ve seen the local store and collected my new running equipment. Best feeling in the world. Since then I had two consolidation runs at different paces (5.54min/km and 7.02min/km), both felt like an escape from craziness. No worries, no responsibilities for the whole 30 min or so, what a blessing! Pure enjoyment at sight of ducks and rabbits in the local park. Saturday I shall join my first PR, in search for my new PB.

Next aim, 5k sub 25’ (no idea how long it should take), then the 10k bridge. And, with a bit of luck, next year I won’t be looking in envy at those running the local HM, but proudly be among them.

It feels like I found myself, and I admit, I like the new me.

Well done and congratulations on graduating from the programme 😃. You can apply for your Virtual Graduate badge now. See pinned post on the right of the page 🙂

Don’t be in too big a hurry chasing PB’s! It takes quite a time to build a pair of running legs Slow running and rest days will get you there. Chasing times too soon will get you injured, so take care and grow those legs gradually and carefully

C25k+ Stepping Stones podcasts are an excellent next step as is the in-house 10 Is The Magic Number programme with our very own running panther Ju-Ju. See links to the right

Happy running. Have fun out there 😃👍

Thank you for reply, PB’s are not my main concern for now, but rabbits and ducks.

Well done Tony! It really is a great feeling isn’t it, to know you can just go for a run and leave it all behind for awhile? It really is a privilege. It took me a longer time to build a distance base before the faster times came. As you build base, you get stronger. Just don’t force it or you could be headed for the IC. Enjoy your journey!

Knocking 5 minutes off an already respectable 5K time is a lot harder than bridging to 10K. misswobble knows her stuff. As your long runs get longer your short runs will get quicker.

Long becomes the new short. Fast becomes the new slow.
