I've just joined and i'm excited to start. Ive been wanting to run for a long time, but i've never had the confidence. I think its because in school we were always doing cross country runs and bleep tests and every other thing that would make us run forever! I hated every bit of it! I became that person that said "you shouldn't have to run unless you're being chased!" *takes a deep breath and calms down*. Anyway, it's lovely to meet you all :-).
I think the problem with schools and running is that there’s no time to do it properly. We never had a build up and neither did my kids... cross country day arrived and it was “this is the course... now off you go” which is, for most pupils, a daunting if not impossible task.
Here it’s different... you’ll learn to build up to 30 minutes and then if you want to go further/longer there are both plans and experienced runners to help you do that.
Run nice and slowly and you’ll complete this... giving you a great base to take your running anywhere you’d like to, from running for fitness and mental well being all the way to ultra marathons.
Lovely to meet you ! Before i started this i used to look at runner in a confused way and wonder why they did it. 5 months on i now know why. Enjoy the plan 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♂️👟
