Morning all. Feeling a little low - I’ve just done - park Run. Feeling good 1& 2/3rds laps done out of 3 then twinge twinge bang - bottom of my calf muscle seized & on 🔥 no warning. Stopped right away - no choice 😞. Walked a little ok not too bad - tried a few steps in run - no definitely not! Sooo disappointed ☹️. I’ve come home tried a bit of foam rolling- agony! I’ve put some ibuprofen gel on and an ice pack but it’s very stiff even walking. I know the fix is rest but if any one has any other suggestions to help they will be gladly received. I’m so disappointed- I had just started feeling fit again after the trials chest ear & sinus infections at the beginning of the year, patiently adding time to my runs little by little 🥺

Thanks - will do. Was running slower than usual because there were so many people this morning- borne out by my km splits - so don’t think I was over doing anything - just one of those things. But gutting nonetheless 😩

Oh no, I’m so sorry you had to halt your run. I hope it gets better soon. Rest it, Ice it, Comfort it, and elevate it. Elevating it is so important. Is it a bad sprain/strain do you think?

Thanks JaoJao - not quite sure - but definitely pulled something. Hey ho - these things happen. At least it’s not my Achilles- did that about three years ago - took 18 months to mend!!! Hopefully this will be much quicker! Frustrated already that I’m going to miss next weeks scheduled runs..... meanwhile it’s the perfect excuse to sit with my feet up to watch the F1, F2 & formula E races......😜
