Just wondering what everyone does on rest days. I am desk based so don't get a lot of mobility during the day so like to get out for a walk in the evenings.
Yesterday was a rest day and I did 4k last night as a stroll (50 mins) just to get out, stretch my legs, mental health moment etc. My walks have also increased in length but I do try to stay at a slow pace as I notice an improvement in my general fitness.
I will be doing Week 4 day 2 tonight.
I'll be honest my legs feel tired this morning and I'm just wondering if I need to cut back on my walks as the C25K gets more difficult or does it all help.

It definitely helps me to keep moving. I walk every day 40-50 minutes at lunchtime, even on my run days as I find it helps to keep my legs moving. You just want to avoid high impact sports on your rest days to give your body time to repair
Hi. I have a dog so I walk both run and rest days. I’ve been doing yoga for a long time and Pilates each week for over a year. Both are great stretching and strengthening exercises. Since running the longer runs from week 7 onwards and because of an ongoing muscle problem, I find that I sometimes need more rest days between runs, so instead of a run I use a bike to cover the same distance as that week’s run. It keeps me moving but there’s no impact. I’ve found that it really helps.
Desk based? I do stretches 2-3 times during a day, no matter where l am (literary). Even standing up every hour or so and stretching your arms and legs will do.
Tired legs? Are you hydrating properly? As in cutting down on coffee/tea and drinking 2.5-3 litres of water daily? 'Heavy legs' are often direct result of poor hydration, not leisurely walks.
