Still not running after graduating about 6 weeks ago (still troubled with infected toes which are taking ages to heal) I’m seeing a podiatrist so everything is under control.
To try and keep fit I’ve started a yoga class which I’m hoping will develop my strength and stamina for running - I can’t wait to get back to it even though I expect I’ll have to start from the beginning again.
Yoga sounds like a great idea while your or toes recover. Lots of stretching & holding and balance. Perfect complement to your return to running. (And I bet you won’t have to go right back to the very beginning. 😊)
Thanks AlMorr, starting at week 3 looks doable and in the meantime I’ll keep up my enthusiasm by browsing this site, gentle exercise and maybe cleaning my trainers!
Hi backintime I’ve completed a 6 week course titled ‘ yoga for over 45’s’ with a teacher who is in her mid 60’s and a fabulous role model (she is so flexible and strong 💪)
Oh dear... Yes that forum is great,, there are quite a few of us there.. I am having to do loads more on there at the moment as sill not running! Maybe tomorrow!!!
It pays dividends to keep the strength and stamina work up... antibiotics zap me totally... so you must be feeling really fed up!
Just concerned about loss of fitness but staying positive (it’s partly due to side effects of ongoing treatment at the moment which leaves the immune system weakened) but onwards and upwards eh!
I do Hartha Yoga which is brilliant for stretching and balance with a bit of meditation aswell. Great for a certain age group as it’s a more gentle yoga. Good luck and hope you feel better soon x
