I have been doing the couch 2 5k plan, and have just started week 7, I have always run outside. I refuse to run in the rain, so took my run to the treadmill, but could barely manage anything at all! Was so despondent, have run since outside, the full 25 mins! Does anyone else have this trouble?

Hi! I ran the whole couch to 5k programme on a treadmill, and since finishing have switched to running outdoors and parkruns. Now when I try to go back to treadmill running I really struggle, I find it's so boring and I have very little motivation to keep running when it gets tough and I tend to loose interest and give up around 2-3k in, when I know full well I can run the full 5k. You are definitely not alone - but I'm afraid I'm yet to find the answer to this, maybe a good TV series or something to watch whilst treadmill running to try to keep you entertained?

I think I would fall asleep with boredom if I tried to run for 25 minutes on a treadmill.

Well done.

Oh dear, I am so boring 😂 so different for me - I love the treadmill, with the music blaring out loud and the occasional glance to see how the numbers are going!

(I was an accountant a long time ago now and need numbers and order?!?)

On week 8 now and I find the tarmac not so forgiving - although I do a lot of walking which has strengthened my legs the most.

However, I intend after week 9 in the summer to attempt again running outside - May even go wild and do a park run?

I honestly thought I’d be fine, but couldn’t pace myself at all! Ridiculous! Normally I’d have given up, but went straight out yesterday and managed again! Staying strong 💪🏻
