2 years ago I took part in the BHF London to Brighton bike ride, was tough, but I put in the hours of training. To be honest I prefer cycling to running; if I’m truly honest, my school years were probably when I last ran. So, I know couch to 5k is going to be tough

Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.

Cyclists may bring good cardio fitness but often do not appreciate the effect of impact on muscles, so please follow the advice on rest days, which are when impact damage is repaired and strengthened.
Enjoy your journey.
That was a good read, thanks for the link.
Stick with cycling I did c25k now wait a operation on my ankle I just been out and brought a new bike for when I can ride again
Running at school years ago and following C25K are completely different things. So go into it with an open mind. It could be that you just have the satisfaction of completing the programme, just ticking it off and moving on, it could be that you keep running as part of a well rounded fitness programme, it could be that you really enjoy running.
You've clearly got a good deal of mental and physical stamina if you can do the training for and complete a long ride like that. There has to be some sort of reason you are considering running as well/instead - maybe the positive effects of high impact exercise on bone density?
I started C25k about two years ago after not having run for about 17 years (before I had children!) I really enjoyed it and have carried on, doing a HM last year and regular 5-10k runs every week (on my own or with clubs, not organised events).
In January my husband bought me a road bike and we are doing about a 30 mile ride every weekend.
The two are totally different and being fit for one activity doesn't make you fit for the other. So keep an open mind, you never know, you might actually enjoy doing both, like me!
