The 10 minute trauma!

I am a few weeks on from graduating and have been worrying because I always feel awful during the first 10 minutes of a run and want to stop. I couldn’t understand why this wasn’t improving, I feel better at the end of a run than at the beginning. After searching on this site today ( sorry, I don’t know how to link) I found that the toxic 10 minutes is a thing! It’s down to biology. I am so relieved, I thought I was doing something wrong

Now I understand what’s happening, ( and that it even happens to elite athletes!) I feel much more positive. I may still feel bad during the toxic 10 but I will just grit my teeth and know it’s just my body gearing up.

I feel like this too. Glad it’s not only me! For the first 10 minutes I feel like I am going to die then it goes away and I’m fine. Bazaar.
