My husband has turned into Laura

Completed my second run with a buddy today. Had been unsure about running with anyone else , what if our paces were really different etc. So glad I did though, both from an encouragement point of view, and I made a fatal rookie error of not checking my headphones were charged. Two minutes into my run they died ! disaster, no music to distract me and no Laura to encourage me . So hubby (my running buddy) , became Laura, telling me when I’d done 5mins, was half way and then the lovely only 5 minutes left shout out. So , completed it , will never go out without checking those headphones again. Thanks to my hubby and a huge thank you to this forum and the whole couch to 5k programme because today was my graduation run ! Feels fab, can’t quite belief that I’ve managed to achieve it. I am a runner, never thought I’d say that. 3 weeks of consolidation runs of 30mins planned and then will slow build up my minutes to 35 to get to 5k. Have got a copy of the very helpful what next post from this forum and have registered for a flat park run, which plan to do in 4 weeks time. Thanks everyone and happy running. Xx

What a great hubby! It is nice when you can run together. I find my husband runs faster than me but I can run much further than him (I'm training for a Half marathon) so when we run together, he slows down so we run a similar pace and then I dump him off at home when he's done and I carry on to finish my run. It seems to work for us for the few runs we do together. I hope you and your hubby can continue to have some great runs together.
