Couch to 5k newbie!

Hey guys!!

I’m 22 and just completed my first run of week 3 and I am over the moon ☺️

Only 3-5 years ago I was one of the most sporty people you could ever meet (especially football). But over the past few years, especially after going to uni, sport and exercise was no longer a priority with uni deadlines, juggling part-time work with my studies and personal problems. I felt incredibly unhealthy and embarrassed that I let myself get so unfit and was afraid of what anyone who used to know me during that time would think if they saw me.

I had no idea where to start to get things back on track and get myself to where I used to be. Couch to 5k has been amazing so far, and while the end still seems ages away I can already feel my mental health improving and I walked through my door with a massive smile earlier that I managed two 3 minute runs 😊 I’m also playing 5-a-side football once a week now too and I would like to start swimming a couple of days a week too.

Reading everyone’s posts and seeing everyone graduate is really inspiring and it’s really motivating me to get through so thank you!
