Done it!!!

I’ve just completed the app but a bit disheartened because I did it on a treadmill and have now been told it will be a lot harder outside. I’ve signed up for the race for life in mid may and a bit worried now I won’t run it all which is what I’m aiming to do. Should I trust my Fitbit is another thing I’ve been told not to do. I’m really confused and a bit fed up now

Congratulations! Dunno who put a downer on this... send them here and I can set them straight 😂

I did all my running outdoors... I can’t get past 15 minutes on the treadmill. Outdoors isn’t that much harder, it’s just different... a few runs to get used to pacing and you’ll be fine... on the treadmill I run to the front of it, see the need to slow down and then I’m at the back of it 😂. When you run outside, don’t worry about distance, and if you start on a softer surface the impact will be similar to what you’re used to... if you can get on a running track that’s perfect, but not many of us can... grass is good, but it will sap energy, hence my statement about not worrying about distance. So... celebrate your huge achievement well, you can now do something that 90+% of the population can’t do. Enjoy consolidation and all your future running adventures... oh and don’t listen to negative voices, you can do anything.

Congratulations to you supersally on completing C25K with week 9 run 3 and graduating.

Don't feel disheartened just because you did the course on a treadmill, many graduates do all the 9 weeks of C25K on a treadmill, celebrate and then run 6/30 minute consolidation runs over the next few weeks before you think of continuing either to run a full 5K or onto the B210K podcast.

To get your graduation badge and the word GRADUATE 🎓 next to your username leave a message on the April graduate post in the pinned posts on the right side of the healthunlocked C25K home page and tell the administrators that you have ran W9R3 of C25K and graduated 🎓 🏃

I have done all my running outside (starting last May aged 66). It is many years since I ran on a treadmill. I remember finding it tedious and hard on my knees. Outside there is so much to divert me, I suspect that temperature control is easier and I find the tracks/ grass I run on very comfortable. So I would just view outside as different rather than harder, and I think you will take to it very quickly. Definitely not a big deal.😊

Awwwwwww please don’t be fed up. You should be so proud yourself and happy that you have achieved so much to finish the programme. I can’t imagine running outside is harder than a treadmill. I’ve only been outside. It will be different that’s all. 😀 like others have said get your pace. Then distance. You never know until you try.

Congratulations on finishing c25k! 🎉Don’t be discouraged. Get outside and run! It’s possible you might need to slow down or walk at the beginning but it’s not a big deal if you do. In 2 or three runs you should be adjusted to running outdoors and will most likely be loving it.

Congratulations on completing the programme, 🎉🎉🎉🎉 running is running, I can't comment on the treadmill, but you have developing running legs now. 🚶‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️Have a few tester runs outdoors, the weather is getting a bit better so now is a great time.

Re the Fitbit, about a year ago I had a Charge 2 that didn't work well, so I sent it back, but I am now giving the Versa Lite a go as I had some Boots Advantage points!.

It doesn't tally with my previous stats, but I know my route and my times, so I know in general how I am comparing, a bit like always weighing in on the same scales, even if they are not totally accurate, you will see a trend.

Good luck, and enjoy outside. 😊
