That was interesting. Quite honestly I had got out of the habit of "keeping going". Even before my sprained ankle, I was doing a lot of run/walk and had been for a long time.
I really started to feel it at about 7 minutes. Then again at about 12 minutes my mind was telling me I needed to walk. But then at the 15 minute check-in from Laura I just got it in my head "it's only 5 more minutes". I kept it mega-slow, and resisted the voices in my head telling me to walk. It's funny how, even though I knew I've done it before, I still obsessed about the length of time.
It's a real landmark in the training, and we should all be proud to have got this far. Only 4 weeks to go!
I've booked myself onto a local 5k running series starting in May, and a 5k race round the town at the end of June... So I have to keep at it!

Congratulations! Well done! I find it good to have corners and blocks rather than a long straight stretch to help me mentally to not feel it's too long or too far. One run behind you!
Thank you! Yes I do vary my routes so it's more interesting. I would get bored going on a straight route. I'm so lucky where I live. If I turn left from my house I can run through the town and park, and if I turn right I can go to the local woods or out on the country roads. It can be quite distracting, which is fantastic. I was quite nervous going out further afield when I first started again, but now I'm feeling loads better about exploring, and if I do a circular route I'm never too far from home!
