So today my 10 year old daughter came with me. In spite of me explaining how the program works with warm up, jog, walk etc She rushed off in front of me....but got a stitch pretty quickly and had to slow way down. Is it wrong to have felt secretly smug that I carried on as planned and completed my run feeling good?!?! (Bad mummy!! ππ)

Not at all. You are doing this for her benefit as well as your own. When my kids have come along with me I explained that I am doing what it says on the plan and you can join in or not but Iβm sticking to it. My daughter started off following the plan with me then running off on her own for a bit after I finished. Now that I am doing 5k regularly she is really struggling to keep up ππ
It's nice that your 10year old wants to come along ,
They are wanting to be with you which can only be a good thing π
In a few years time you will be wishing they were 10 again
Sounds like sheβll be learning the hard way. Education is good for kids. So is exercise π
All looks very good to me. Kids having the opportunity to follow advice or do their own thing and learn by experience that the advice was maybe better than they thought is great. No risk of any lasting harm and no need to have any arguments....brilliant, and getting great exercise too. Everybody wins π.....lots to feel a bit smug about (so long as you donβt show it.) π€π
