I’ve failed......

Week 4 run 2. I’ve failed. I did half way of the session and had to stop. I’m so out of breath. I personally think it’s because I ate my tea before my run. I did leave an hour gap to let the food settle. However, I think I’ve failed. I’ve done rubbish. I’m going to do the other half tomrorow. I have 16:00 muneits left.

No no no! No such thing as failure here - it’s not allowed! You still ran didn’t you? That’s a positive. Forget it, re-do the run (perhaps before food not after!) and don’t let it affect your commitment to the plan. Good luck next time!

Thanks. I ran half of the session. Just didn’t have the energy to carry on

I understand what you mean. Making your mind believe that you can do it can be harder than making your body actually do it. Persistence is the key! Try it again next run! Running it's not always fun, but it's always worth it!

You can see where you might have gone wrong.........so it is a learning experience.......... well done.

Take the positives and move on, but take a rest day between runs, even if you don't complete them.

You can do this.

Thank you!

We've all been there, I've stopped many times, once I got so angry I started kicking a pile of leaves, swearing at them. People approaching me quickly turned around and started walking the other way. It's just one of those days, you'll have bad days and you'll have great days where you just fly. The important thing is to stick at it. Do that and you can't fail.

Don’t be disheartened! You ran half your session, well done! I’d give yourself a proper rest day and try again on Thursday maybe. I also made that mistake of eating and then running and it went wrong for me too!

You've not failed you did run. Take a rest day tomorrow and try again if you had dinner before a run you would need to wait at least 2 hours. You can do this 😊😊

Don’t give up! Repeat your run & maybe leave 2 hours after a meal. 😀

Even very experienced runners have to stop sometimes. If anything you did well to listen to your body and not try to push through. Take some time to rest and stay positive x

Failures don’t cross start lines. You did and the run you did makes you fitter and stronger for the next run... so you won today even if it doesn’t feel like it. Celebrate what you’ve done, don’t ever dwell on what you haven’t done. I’ve set off aiming for a bigger distance than I’ve achieved a few times... I don’t let it bother me that I’m a mile short... I just smile and think about when I couldn’t run a mile. You also learned something... another hour after tea and you’d have been fine... unless it was a big meal, then leave 4 hours. So, you can’t be here after a run fitter, stronger and having learned something and class that as a failure... it’s a victory.

Fail: first attempt in learning.

Ok you did not complete the run... but you learned about running when tired (take another rest day); about eating and running (you needed more than 1hr to digest that meal); you learned that some runs are just meh!! (do it another day); you learned the meaning of resilience. I’d call that a success.

That is not a fail, it may be just an indication of where your body is at right now. It will adapt and get stronger with time and consistent effort. Please trust me on this. Take it easy on yourself, there’s plenty of time to adjust and move forward slowly. It’s ok. 👍🏼

Well done for getting out there and starting. And well done for being determined to get out there and achieve it next time. And well done for discovering something about your running preferences! :)

As said above, no failures here. You have come so far, you are at the same stage as me. We will do this. I know that I can’t run if I have food in my stomach which I why I run very early in the morning. However you have learnt something today and good on you for going and having another crack at it.

Good luck, you will smash it
