Question - newbie in mountains

Hello all,

I have done R2 of WK3 and all is going well. I have one more week in UK before I go to the mountains for 2 weeks. So that will be my week 5 and 6.

Any tips from anyone? The altitude is 1850 and even at that height I get altitude sickness and usually I take it easy on my first 3 days (I won’t ski as going up higher makes me so nauseous the first couple of days).

I don’t want to stop the programme though. So any tips welcome.

Thanks for reading - this community is great.

I would enjoy my holiday and if the opportunity to run crops up, then great, but if not just reread the guide to the plan which states that you will not lose any significant condition in the first two weeks of non running.

Enjoy your break.

Thanks so much. Am just worried that by having just gotten into the running habit that I may lose it. But I guess that is for me to deal with afterwards ;-)

If you're thinking of running in a mountainous area, I think it helps to keep in mind that running downhill has significantly more impact on the knees than running on the flat. Enjoy your holiday!
