Aching all over

I was buzzing yesterday as I managed to do week 1 run 1. Today, I am aching all over. To the point where I’ve been in bed most of the day. My legs feel like jelly. I can’t wzlk the dog and am thinking I won’t be able to manage the next run tomorrow. Help! I really want to do this.

Keep moving. Staying in bed is not going to ease your aches and pains.

Make sure you stretch after every run, as described in the guide to the plan.

Get up every few minutes... walk around the house... keep the legs lose. Active recovery is much faster than just sitting or lying around. Maybe do some yoga or some standing upper body exercises... doesn’t have to be high intensity. I never sit for more than an hour now, and I feel much better even after my long run.

Great job getting started... enjoy your journey.

Just keep moving - your body needs to get used to what your doing. Try the nhs strength and flexibility podcast on your rest days and active 10 is a great reminder to get up and be active. Well done on starting your journey and good luck with it. Everyone here is always ready to support you x

Ibuprofen!

Are you sure you’ve not got flu?

Thanks everyone. Got going and felt better for it. Just calves hurting now. Gonna drink lots of water today before tonight’s run.
