Just finished my first run in week one and my apple watch recorded regularly going over 190. I am only 21 and fairly unfit and I defiantly didn't pace myself very well. Should I still continue? I feel fine other than my aching leg muscles

The watch is only estimating your MHR... and it may be picking up your cadence. If you’re really beyond where you should be HR wise you’d probably be nauseous and almost certainly suffering more than just some aching leg muscles, which are to be expected. If you’re worried about heart rate, go see your GP and look to invest in a dedicated monitor like a chest strapped one which will feed into your devices and be more accurate.

Slow down would be my advice. Get into the next run and try to talk out loud in full sentences... if you can’t, you’re too fast. Slower running builds stamina and cardio fitness better than fast running. Let’s face it, at 21 you can push speed for years to come... right now it’s about becoming a runner first.

Great job getting started... welcome to the forum... enjoy your journey.
