Was this too high? Usually the range when I'm running is around 174. No idea why higher today, pretty sure I didn't go faster than normal.

Heart rate
Did you fall to the floor clutching your chest?
Sometimes it’s harder on the legs and the heart pumps a bit more. Your watch isn’t 100% accurate and neither its idea of maximum heart rate unless you’ve had some thorough treating done.
We still have no idea how high Roger Bannister’s heart rate was during that 4 minute mile.
When Michael Johnson said 60 seconds to go on today's run I went faster, only just remembered! So I guess that explains it! I usually keep the same slow steady pace which I guess is why looking back in my Garmin data it's all about the same. Phew, gave myself a scare then!!
Sorry for butting in regarding heart rate being 182, it's OK being that for just a short time.
UNM I have just come back from my walk round Balloch Country Park and guess what was happening there? A cross country event for primary school children, plenty of children taking part, you know what I mean that there was a lot of cheering going on, great atmosphere, I am sure all the kids enjoyed themselves with running round the park.
Bet some damn fast ones too!
Yes, but I don't know how long the circuit was and did not see any timing clocks as I was just passing by, I think they were there to enjoy running rather than get PBests, I did see some fast ones as well.
Mine's always pretty high, and to be honest have stopped checking it! First time around on the program I checked it too often, I panicked too much about it and probably raised it further 😊 These gizmos are great but I wouldn't read too much into them, they're not totally accurate, think sometimes it's just better to judge in yourself how you're feeling before, during and after the run.
First time I've checked it, was like whoaaaaaaa! Felt fine running. Enjoyed it
That's the main thing, though you made me just check mine 😂, average 169 today with a high of 184 (just 1 under my supposed maximum) so you're not alone, I don't expect it will drop for me for a good while yet! Best of luck for R3 🤞
It depends on your age, fitness and normal maximum heart rate and if you have concerns then consult a medical professional.
If you are going to pay attention to heart rate then you really need to do some research so that you know what the figures mean, otherwise it is best ignored.
