Hello! This is my first time posting and I just wanted to thank you all for the motivation and advice - I couldn’t have done this without you!

I’m now aiming for reaching that 5k. Is signing up for a Parkrun this Saturday too soon? I feel like there’s no stopping me right now! Haha!

Thank you everyone again xx

I started Parkrun on the first Saturday since graduation and started with my 5 minute walk and then ran until 30 minutes were up then walked until I saw the finish line, ending with a short run. Start nearer the back so you don’t get in the way of the speedsters. Enjoy, but be warned, it’s addictive.

Well Done 👏👏

That sounds like a good plan and a good way to get a feel for it. Thank you 😄

Fantastic achievement! You should be so proud of yourself!

I'm a big advocate of park run - I graduated today but have done 10 park runs already. My first was before I even started the programme and I walked nearly all of it. I think you should go ahead and sign up and go and enjoy the atmosphere and the people. Why not start park run with a 5-minute warm-up walk and then just be kind to yourself and run your 30 minutes and then walk what's left (you may have completed it by then anyway depending on your pace).

Whenever you do decide to go, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. :)

Actually, I like Dexy's idea of a short run to the finish line, too :)
