As i end tonight with W8R3 and next week to move onto W9.. my current pace is approximately 3.8Km to 4.2Km per each 28minutes ...

Is this a good pace at the moment?

My plan is to do week 9 ( all 3 runs ) twice..

... or at least until i get 5km within in my sights .

Good idea... thoughts?

Great job. Pace isn’t important... we all start out of shape and in a couple of months we run 30 minutes... that’s what the mission is... that’s life changing. If you’re comfortable at that pace it’s perfect... if not it’s too fast.

Your plan meets the best advice here. After the 3rd run you’re a graduate of the plan... but then consolidation is recommended... personally I ran 9 30 minute runs, with a small diversion to honour my old training buddy over a 3k track session. The best way is to run 30 minutes until it’s comfortable/easy... you want to be finishing with some left in the tank... then extend to bag 5k while you consider where you want to go with your running.

Enjoy week 9... it’s your victory lap and we will all be here to cheer you over the line and onto that podium.

Maybe more maybe less... until it’s comfortable/easy. Took me 6 or so

I find its not the breathing now.. but more niggling aches that do slow me down.. i cope.. just averaging 3.8km to 4.2km in 28mins atm...

If you look at this poll of graduates healthunlocked.com/couchto5.... you will see less than 15% run a sub 30 minute 5k by graduation.

Actual graduation requirements are to run 3x30 minute runs.

Your pace is your pace........be proud, don't compare.

Most people don't get to 5k by the end of the plan. Pace comes with time so don't worry.

If your doing 4.2 you"re nearly there anyway. On my regular runs I quite often don't manage a 30 min 5k.

Also my time improved when I stopped worrying about it.

So just keep on repeating week 9 maybe 3 times....and see how it goes?

Yes it’s a good pace. Any pace that lets you finish the run without getting injured is a good pace.
