what is a good pace? I'm on week 8 and my pace is only 10:46/m which means I won't make 5k by week 9 which is really disappointing. do most people reach 5k after week 9, if not how long after does it take?

Pace
About 10% of graduates on this site run a sub 30 minute 5k at graduation.
If you want to go on to hit 5k after graduation then it is recommended that you increase one run by no more than 10% of your weekly total mileage, until you hit the target.
How long that takes is totally variable............we are all different.
Why are you disappointed? Could you run for 28 minutes a few weeks ago?
Be proud. Your pace is your pace and if you continue running it will more than likely increase in time.
Same here. I like having the Strava app, but I think if I didn’t have an app and just focussed on running for increasing periods of time I’d be less judgemental on myself about how slow I run.
The best pace is a smart pace, between a 🐌&🐢 slow & steady, building on those running legs & stamina. There’s no such thing as too slow. It’s what l aspire to, to enable me to run those longer runs. Your doing fab👍🏻
That's pretty much what my pace works out to be. From my calculation you'd do the 5k in just under 33 mins so I'd be very happy with that. Though I've been mainly treadmill running, so an actual park run I think I'd be slower due to the inclines and uneven surfaces
The good pace is your happy comfortable pace. Your pace is faster than I was during the programme, I ran 12 minute miles on average. Running slowly builds endurance. Since graduation I have had two attempts to go sub 30, and was pleasantly surprised that I could maintain the needed pace. There was no way I’d have tried this before graduation though, completing the programme and changing my life were much more important.
Take the advice from IannodaTruffe ... just run...as comfortably and enjoyably as you are able..
This is your C25K...😊 you are doing wonderfully.
