W3R1 and still feeling like hell!

W3R1 and still feeling like hell during the run, am I doing something wrong? I also feel like my left ankle is going to crack at some point 😌.

Despite this, I am still motivated and very keen to do the next runs. But I want to get sure that I am on the right track.

Try and slow down then slow down even more , as for your ankle that maybe your shoes to blame 😊

It is a walking shoes, could this be the problem?

Hello and welcome! Well done for starting. Chances are you are going too fast! Also change shoes, walking shoes are rigid and not what you need. If you are serious about the programme, do go to an independent spirt shop and ask for a gait analysis, it will help you get the correct shoes. Let us know how you get on!

Perhaps you are running too fast or are not hydrated enough, just take all your runs slow and steady, it's not a race, have two days off and then run/walk run 2 of week 3, hopefully you won't 'feel like hell' after the run. πŸƒ

Actually I feel like this during the last running intervals, which made me think if i am gonna hurt my ankle by time, specially being overweight.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and explains the recommended easy conversational pace, which makes the whole thing so much more enjoyable and doable, whilst still developing your stamina.

Enjoy your journey....,...if you slow down.

In the post from IannodaTruffe there is a link to one about shoes. That might help you with the ankle problem.
