W4r1- does a big mug of tea count for rehydration as I hate cold drinks in the morning?

W4r1 done , even though put run2 into tracker šŸ™„

I wasnā€™t looking forward to going outside but cracked it and lived the feeling once complete. Iā€™ll do run 1 next which will actually be run2!

I love a mug of tea (or 10) of a morning. Hydration isnā€™t about just before you run though... sipping water all day the day before run day will hydrate you better than anything you drink on the day, especially if youā€™re a morning runner. Itā€™s also a good idea to fill your water bottle hours before you start drinking from it and letting it reach room temperature... itā€™s easier to keep sipping it then.

Enjoy that run 2/1 šŸ˜‚. Great job today.

Good hydration every day..not just on run days or the day before... you need it. A cuppa is fine.. just leave some time in between it and running:)

There is caffeine in tea although not as much as in coffee, and given that caffeine is diuretic it will make you visit toilet more. More tea means more toilet, means less liquid in the body, means possible dehydration. I love green tea but would never drink it before a longer morning run. Proper hydration, where you drink at least a few litres of water, is done every day - except before the run (toilet issue again). If you are properly hydrated you wonā€™t need much, if anything, during the run. Of course, if you go down marathon route you will work out different systems but thatā€™s a different story. ;)
