Week 5 couch to 5k
I thought week 5 was the hardest for this. I just couldn't do it, so I took a break from the programme and did my own thing of adding a few minutes to the eight I'd done non-stop until I could get to twenty. Took me 7 runs between W5R2 and W5R3 but I did it in the end. I can now run 30 minutes non-stop
It is not a huge jump and here is why healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
You can do it.
Lol we all feel that way when we see that jump! But what's the worst that can happen? You can either try and feel amazed you did it or try and end up walking a little and trying it again next time. Either way you get out and get that exercise!
When I did week 5 R3 I chose a different route which was all flat ground as my usual route has a hill in the middle lol. It meant going up and down rather than in one straight line (which I prefer despite the hill). But it will totally surprise you and in my personal opinion I actually find the continuous runs much better than the stop starts. The first five mins is hard but then your muscles warm up and you get into a rhythm and it feels SO GOOD you don't even want to stop!
Just like CrimsonMama says you’ll do it, and I agree the first five minutes of any run seems harder than the rest ( on a good day). w5r3 is a leap of faith but you’ll do it and feel great afterwards
I felt the same - we all did - but surprisingly it happens - don't worry about it - just keep going
