Hi, I've been following posts here for some time - thanks for all the info & motivation I've been soaking up!
I've finished C25K a while back and am now onto regular 5ks and park runs. The back of my knee started hurting yesterday, 3 days after my last run, it's quite sore. It seems to get better once I move it more though. Could I attempt a run? I seem to remember a rule here on the forum, if it gets better with movement run, if it gets worse don't run? I don't want to make it worse but was very much looking forward to a park run on Saturday...

It’s difficult to answer the question without knowing the cause. In one respect it didn’t come on during a run, but we don’t know if running will aggravate it. Maybe go for a brisk walk and if it’s fine do a short gentle 20 yard jog and see what happens. If the pain persists then a doctor or physio will be able to give you some idea what caused it and probably some specific exercises to help it recover and strengthen. I’d be reluctant to go for a run without testing it or a medical opinion. Hope it’s better soon.
