Sadly I think the only thing you can do is rest the muscle. There’s no point trying to run with a pulled muscle you’ll just make it worse.

It’s possible a sports physio would be able to help you. They could probably confirm the exact nature of the injury and give you a recovery plan.

Agree absolutely with Gonnatri, sorry about your injury, you must not run.

Stop running now... it could just be a strain... but if not a minor tear... so... try some home care as in the post for Newbies......

" When anyone, however fit, starts a new physical training regime that they are not used to, they will suffer aches and minor pains initially. This is unavoidable but should you be in real pain, then your body is telling you to stop…...so do just that.

For many years first aid for runners was known under the acronym R.I.C.E. standing for Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation. This has now been superseded by other variations such as M.I.C.E., where the M stands for mobility, because rest was often interpreted as no movement, which can be harmful for some injuries. The NHS version now appears to be

P.R.I.C.E., where the P stands for protection. nhs.uk/conditions/sports-in..."

If it does not improve significantly please do see a Sports Physio.... I feel very strongly about this as I was out of action for ten weeks! ( Don't panic you will probably be fine:))

As you have been told, rest is the best cure.

This is a good place to start understanding your injury nhs.uk/conditions/sports-in...

Take care.

Thanks everyone. I'm resting as my muscle is still sore. Hope I don't have to start all over again

How long do you think I should rest my pulled calf. Did it a week ago and it feels much better although I can still feel it pulling slightly. I was going to go today is it too soon?

Well I've done a run after two weeks rest with a pulled calf. Went back to week 6 and didn't feel too bad. Hope it holds out
