Well done, I’m not even at 3k yet!! Slow and steady is the mantra here, ‘embrace your inner snail’. The programme is designed to get us running for 30 mins not 5K but it’s a catchy name! The time to increase distance and pace is when we’ve finished the full 9 weeks. Happy running 🏃‍♀️

I did this run yesterday. Feels great doesn’t it. I covered just under 3km including the warm-up and cool-down walks.

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, don't worry about your pace, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs 🏃

Thanks for letting me know! I thought they would all be 20 minutes plus now but clearly not! 😆

No, just as a reminder, run 1 of week 6 is run for 5 minutes, walk for 3, run for 8 minutes, walk for 3 and finally run for 5 minutes., not until the third run of week 6 is the first of 4/25 minute runs, three of which are in week 7.

PS, strange username, most people who run on C25K report after running that the are REDintheface, not blue.

Hey forget the distance! You ran for 20 mins!!!!!! Did you think you could do this when you started? I didn’t - so I celebrated that I could run 20 mins non stop. Slow is good, push too hard too soon and you won’t hit your next milestone.

Thank you!!

Great job. You’re not supposed to be at anything but your comfortable pace at this stage... 5k is cool and all that, but this is much more about getting to 30 minutes of cardio, that’s what changes your life. Don’t stress pace or distance.. they can come later. Celebrate that you ran 20 minutes... celebrate the fact you haven’t quit this... celebrate the fact you can run. The stats will never really matter, even if you choose to chase them... relax and run!

Enjoy week 6... slow and steady really helps in the intervals!

Hi Blueintheface, when I finished week 8 with ease I decided to go along to the local park run on Christmas Day. There were another 348 people there with me and I remember thinking "has the whole world gone mad"? Anyway, I finished in 345th position, having run, jogged, walked, coughed and crawled a total of 5 kilometres. It because obvious to me then that I have probably only been running 3 or 4 km within couch25K but i am now ready to embrace the next step of turning up to a park run and looking forward to beating my "personal best" of 44 minutes and 40 seconds! LOL - if I am any slower, I would have walked faster.

Well done you! What a fab and positive attitude. I reckon, like you say, I will think about the 5k once I hit the 30mins and finish the course.

Well done Blue! 20 minutes running was unthinkable just a few weeks ago (even last week lol). Look at us go 😀
