I’ve had around about a 5 month gap from running. Made it to week 5 last time and I was SO proud and excited. I don’t know why I stopped. It was easy to sit around and mope I suppose.
So I’m back to it today with a question. What week should I restart on? My fitness levels are down. I’ve done nothing but walk since the summer. But I really don’t want to be back to square one. Does anyone have any advice?

Yes, I’m afraid going back to the beginning again is probably the best idea. However, if you’ve been doing a lot of brisk walking you might find that your fitness levels aren’t actually as bad as you think.
Maybe choose another plan for a change, or another voice as your trainer?
If it helps This time last year I was about to run my first half marathon and I’m just about to start back at the beginning after a break of 2 months following an incident in which I broke my wrist.
I started from the beginning again today after a 6/7 month break. I’d previously graduated and was running regularly up to 8k but I really think after such a long break you’re better to start from scratch to avoid injury. Good luck 😉
I agree with the advice to restart. I have done that twice following illness/ injury. It was a more relaxed and enjoyable in a different way second time round. 😃
Thank you all for the advice. I ended up starting with week 2 again, thinking I’d stop if it got too much. It was a nice easy run and feeling great about it.
