Hi everyone and welcome to yet another new and exciting running week.
For those of us new to winter running- my first winter I found it useful to make a note of the temperature, the number of layers I wore, and how I felt from a warmth point of view. Very quickly you will begin to recognise what gear you need for what conditions....... everyone is different in their preferences so it might be worth a try maybe?
So, getting back to our chatty chat........We are all so busy... life can be hectic .... and even more so for us runners!
Fear not, here is a place to take five, and enjoy a good old natter about our running adventures, trials, tribulations, successes, achievements etc.
Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up, but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.
If you're a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi, without the pressure of a full post.
So pull up a chair, slip off the running shoes, and settle down for a little chin-wag!
Wishing you all a happy, healthy, great running week.

So, Iβm out for a few weeks, but today I walked up the stairs again without screaming in pain! Iβll take that as a victory. Still hurts like hell when I forget and turn with my right foot on the ground.
Reading todayβs posts about pace and distance really reaffirmed in me that I donβt care about either. Planning my comeback routine and the first week will be half mile runs at recovery pace, and Iβll love them... it will take me 5/6 weeks to hit 5k again, Iβm very aware that the stretched tendons and ligaments will need strengthening again... slow and steady! Just need to know where the start line is... but as long as I know there is one Iβll be fine.
Happy running guys, Iβm cheering you all on... Iβm getting a virtual megaphone so you hear me shouting βslow downβ when itβs tough out there.
I shall! Itβs not a bad place to be... Iβm on the couch so much fitter and healthier than I was 6 months ago... thatβs the important thing I think.
I was only diagnosed after being in hospital with peritonitis back in May 2018. As Im in my 50s it was a late diagnosis. I suppose once every 6 weeks is about the average for me now. This one has been patticually bad mind you.
I started my C25K journey on a treadmill before I was brave enough to run outside. Since then Iβve been outdoors all summer and autumn. I struggle to motivate myself to run now itβs dark before and after work so have been back on the treadmill in the gym, and Iβm not enjoying it so much. Canβt wait for the light mornings. Come on summer! Whinge over! Happy running everyone πββοΈπββοΈ
You are maintaining running legs so thatβs brilliant! You may get a run or two in over the holiday period maybe? Those days will start to lengthen again soon!
Still trying to run 3 x a week but happy if I do 2 x given the dark nights and hectic schedules that December is. Have recently done 9km which am really pleased about, although I think 5k will be my favourite distance for a while. Planning on trying to get to 10 km when it's the holidays but if it happens it happens!
I am starting my HM training today, I have not run since the 11th November...
( Bronchiosuaurus lurgy!)
So... it begins for me... we are running at different levels, but, all running together.. and. along with UnfitNoMore , I shall be the one by your side whispering... slow and steady. Happy safe runs everyone!
Hello! Lurker here... I just attempted W4R3 before my work shift this afternoon, and only managed half - been feeling like I'm coming down with something for the last few days and just ran out of energy... At least I gave it a go, I suppose?
Hey guys, Iβm definitely not a lurker and I post and comment Far Too Much! But itβs fun and I feel so excited to share my experiences with you all (*collective groan*) I freely admit I go on a bit ...... ππ
Out for my repeat 8k a bit later on this morning. The weather is meant to be perfect so it can only be better than last weekβs clunker of an 8k. ππ πββοΈ. But subsequently I enjoyed a sweaty 4k on the treadmill (loved it!) and an awesome parkrun where Iβm pretty sure I achieved a 5k PB. It was my 2nd best parkrun time - my time is skewed by starting at the back with my doggie, but I wouldnβt be without her as she loves parkrun! β€οΈππββοΈ
Youβre all fab people and weβre all fab runners! Have a happy day. β€οΈπββοΈπβ€οΈ
Iβm supposed to do w4 third run today but my daughter in law is in labour and Iβm so excited and anxious i donβt think I can think about anything else - like coordination and not falling over. So Iβm off to pilates and will try again later today!
