Hi folks. Gave up couch to 5k after week 5 and really want to start again...but I now have plantar fasciitis, can you run with that?

It all depends how severe it is. I had it early on in C25K, but because it was mild it didn’t interfere with my running. I made sure I stretched the affected foot well and I wore gel heel inserts and compression socks.

It’s gone completely now and I’ve been running longer distances with no pain whatsoever (touch wood!)

Cheeky what sort of stretches did you do? I think I’ve got a mild form of this!

I found standing on the bottom stair and letting my heel drop down as far as it would go worked wonders.

Plus I follow a yoga lady on YouTube called Adriene, and she does a lovely yoga for the feet which includes lots of yummy stretches and foot massage. I’d really concentrate on the affected foot and It felt lovely afterwards! 😀👍 I still use that video regularly now. ❤️

Ouch! I suffered with this a few years ago, but only first thing in the mornings. Wearing wedged boots was the only thing that helped me plus Physio exercises and paracetamol. Google stretches or seek advice of a Physio, maybe lifts in your running shoes will help

I’ve found it’s helped mine a bit. I do exercises as per physio advice and wear shoe inserts, but since starting c25k it’s not been as painful 🤞🏼
