Hello all!

I hope you are all doing ok with the darker days! Remember to wear something so that you can be seen, and experiment with the amount of layers needed! This coming week is forecast to drop colder!

So, welcome all to November, week 3 of “What is your week?” Whats’s the idea of "What is your Week?”.

Well every week I am going to put up a post, so you can add in a little post underneath, to say what week you are planning to do this week.

Sample post (feel free to put as much or as little as you like):

“Hi, I'm Millsie-J and this week, I am doing the milestone Week 6 runs. Feeling a little nervous, any tips folks? “

We are growing so much at the moment and we wanted to have a little fun post ,so we can see who is on what week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.

Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.

If you have just graduated, this will also be a great place to keep you motivated, there is always the Quest on the Bridge to 10k forum as well, for Graduates.

Come on you lurkers, we would love to hear from you too!

Happy running everyone🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏻🌞

Did my first ever parkrun last Saturday in a time of 25mins 4 secs when I was meant to be doing wk5r1. Absolutely loved it and over the moon with that performance. I still intend carrying on with the plan so hopefully going to do wk5r2 tomorrow

I am technically on week 10 run 3 tomorrow as am consolidating at the moment. I don’t feel ready to do a park run yet as I haven’t reached that magical 5K mark on my runs. I want to be able to comfortably run for 30 minutes before I attempt one. At the moment when that magical 30 minute marker is announced I am so grateful to be able to stop I don’t think I could carry on running for a bit longer just to hit 5K. I am close at around 4.3-4.6K though. Any tips?

You are doing great Diane!

You may need to slow a bit to extend the distance/time running as a start! Get to the 5k and then work on quickening again ( if thats what is important to you).

Enjoy!

HI Diane, well done for completing the program its brilliant isn't it. I had exactly the same issue when I graduated. Just couldn't run for even a minute more than that 30....

Just by running slowly and steadily for those 30 minutes though as Millsie-J says you will get stronger and fitter.

With help from forum members, I tried adding the extra bit onto the beginning of my run, as it was passing the place where I usually stopped that was the problem. So a slightly longer warm up walk to create more distance. Also have a great playlist on shuffle so you can keep going for just one more track....

Vary your routes, and maybe try the c25k+ podcasts for something different with new running tips from Laura.

So many new things to try, and that 5k will come soon, enjoy your running and try to find your happy pace, it makes a difference.😊x
