A really enjoyable run

So I haven't been able to fit in three runs a week recently. So I didn't think I'd run today. But I had such an urge and made myself do it and it was brilliant!

I still used W9R3 in my ears, MJ is so motivating! The first part of the run was amazing - 5min along the coast road running into the wind - it felt like some sort of resistance training! An easy run as I turned north and eventually headed home. Only 4k in 30min but I loved every minute of it. Not ever really out of breath, no stitch, some stretches at home plus a 45s plank and 10 press ups (on my knees but they're getting easier).

Hoping to do parkrun on Saturday. It'll be my third parkrun at my third different venue!

When you can’t run as much and then you get out there, it really is a celebration of being able to... think back to all the times you had the time but couldn’t do that... this way is better.

Easy runs rock... 30 easy not too long after it seemed like 1 was trying to kill us, how cool is that?

Extra kudos for doing exercise after... I’m still separating workouts on runs with sleeps 😂

One thing though... you loved every minute, it was a beautiful run, the location was perfect, it came easy... “only” 4K? Perfect 4K... that’s what it was, 4 beautiful kilometres run by an amazing new runner, who will come back and run that 4K again just because it was so loved.

Hope your next run is as great.

First 3 parkruns at 3 different venues... you going for the Hoffman?

I like your description of my run more than mine! Beautiful 4k. When I look back to August... the difference is astonishing!

Yeah, I was like... ok... amazing description of an obviously loved run... what’s that word doing there? 😂

Dunno if you missed my edit, I dropped another bit in.

What's the Hoffman?

Parkrunner Roderick Hoffman I think did his first 100 parkruns all at different venues... I think that 50 all different from run 1 is considered a Hoffman and you get a half Cowell at the same time 😂

Parkrun has also got some tourism and other challenges... hardest one I saw was Groundhog Day... post the exact same time at the same venue in two consecutive events.

There’s lots of this crazy stuff going on, have a google or download Free Weekly Timed podcast.

Oooh!

Probably not though! I happened to be at my in-laws for my first. Then did the second on the seafront. There is one in a park which is a little closer, so doing that on Saturday. The next nearest one is in the top 10 hardest parkruns in the UK, so probably going to give that one a miss...

I don’t blame you... I have a fair few near me... but 50 nearest gets expensive real quick when I looked at it, and it’s kinda against the ethics of parkrun to drive a ton of miles for a stat! I may do the alphabet challenge and there’s one in Poland I have to do as the run crosses national borders... but I’ll talk my time doing such madness
