Too icy already!!

It’s my birthday today and I was gonna go out for a birthday run - W8R1 but I got half way through my warm up walk and had to turn round after slipping several times on the pavement😔 so disappointed. Really hope this isn’t the start of icy roads from now till March!

Happy birthday Flutori but its been spoiled a bit by that fall you had on that warm up walk, best advice is not to run again if the temperature is around freezing point, perhaps you could then go to the local gym and run on a threadmill.

Happy birthday Flutori! Shame about your run, but imagine if you’d have fallen or twisted something? No running! 😩

So you did the right thing! 👏

Do you have access to a treadmill for the days that aren’t conducive to running outside?

🎂 Could you run later in the day, or find a different route where the sun gets onto the road earlier. Apparently our bodies perform exercise better in the afternoon according to a Horizon episode I watched recently about body clocks.I won't run if its icy after a nasty non-running fall some years ago, but it never gets too bad here -no mre tha a few days. It is sadly unlikely that this cold will last till March because we are bound to get rain rain rain before too long.

You did the right thing. Safety first. Icy spells in this country don't normally last more than a few days so it's just a case of making the most of safe running conditions when they are available and staying safe when they're not.
