Trying to pinpoint injury?

Very annoying as I've only done two runs! Enjoyed them and eager to do more! But after the first run I had an ache which (I thought) originated in my right knee. During the second run it got worse and after got so bad I couldn't put weight on my right leg. I've been resting, elevating and wearing a knee sleeve for compression. It feels a bit better. I've been trying to look up more info but it doesn't seem to be knee or shin .. I can bend and move my leg whilst lying down fine. I can put weight on my knee (crawl on hands and knees) fine. I can do stretches pulling my foot back towards my butt fine or lifting. The sharp pain I thought was on the inner side of the knee but now I think it's a bit lower than knee level. It pains if I bare weight or twist. Is this muscle, ligament, upper shin, tissue? As I can fully bare weight on my knee crawling I don't think it's the knee? And when can I run again!!! When it's fully pain free? With lots of stretches before and after? I was a little worried about being too injured for work but I think it's getting better with rest although I think I will be limping a day or two more yet!

I found both my knees got really sore around this time, and tried to ‘run through it’. Not sensible! My wife, happily, is a physio and pointed out that pain comes from ITB and hamstrings being really tight as they’re not used to running. Look up some hamstring stretches, have a few days off, and stretch before run - it helped me, as does a patella support - from a reliable online retailer for about £5.

Hope it settles down, if not a trip to a doctor/physio is advised.
