So I did my second run of week 7 this week and actually enjoyed it. Didn’t cover much distance again but with my dog on a waist lead pull me it felt more resistance running. However since I got home my shins are really painful. I don’t want to stop as I have got so far and I am determined to finish the programme. Any advise ??

Hi Simba77, a few years ago, long before contemplating jogging, let alone running! I got painful shins from power walking, although it wasn’t for a particularly long distance. Someone suggested changing trainers, and since I had no idea what type of trainers would alleviate the problem I came across a specialist running shop. The assistant in there was very knowledgeable and recognised the problem immediately. True that the shoes were expensive but I never ever had painful shins again. I suggest you get some input on good shoes that are right for you from someone who is trained.
