I did my first post c25k run this morning. I’m going to make myself run in different places rather than sticking with my obsessive need to run the same route all the time. It was due to rain so I wore my lovely new running wet jacket. It did not rain. I boiled over 🤯😂. Lesson learnt 🙄
Today I ran one of my regular walks at Toys Hill and the hills were quite hard 😱. I did a steady 20 min run which is the first run of the new plan I’m going to try to follow (5k to 10K). No idea how far I will get but I like to have structure and a goal to work towards. The program kind of dictates that it will be good to run in different places as some runs which start to push your pace will need to be flatter for me, at least to start with.
I’m also going to factor in some runs for fun/pleasure including caniX and Park Runs and not totally constrain myself to getting through the new program obsessively week by week; time to enjoy my new passion is just as important as progressing.
Would love to hear what others do after graduating 🏃♀️🏆.
Great job... those hills on a shorter run will help with speed later
Sounds like you have a good plan. I’m heading into a 5k race plan next, so long runs and intervals will be coming. Loving every minute of my running so far.
Sounds good! I agree with you about having a plan post c25k. Mine isn't very detailed though!
I am on week 2 of consolidation runs of 30 mins, trying to get to 5k. I think after the third week I will try and do a park run, and also try to make one of my runs 5k, and then maybe try and increase the distance of the runs, probably only the third one as the other two have tight time constraints.
I too need to find new places to run, as I use a running track, but it is so much nicer than pounding the pavements around where I live and quicker than having got to drive somewhere!
Interested to read your post-graduation plans too: I finished a couple of weeks ago and haven't been able to run as much due to starting a new job (I was determined to finish the programme before that happened!) but am trying to tackle a) hills and b) improving my speed/stamina. Good luck with (and enjoy!) your next steps : )
