So long for now :(

I went to see a physio today as I had been experiencing pain down my left shin for a few weeks. Was pushing through but after W4R1 I knew I had to stop and get it looked at. I was really worried that it was going to be something serious but it's because of tight calf muscles - physio said some of the tightest she's ever seen. Obv not good but way better than I was expecting! I'm to stop running but will be using my exercise bike to keep up cardio. I've got a follow up appointment in 2 weeks.

I'll def be back on here to get some advice as to where I should start back at when I get the all clear from the physio as I suspect others have been in a similar position.

Who knew I would be sad to not be able to go out for a jog, who have I become 😂!

That's a real shame.. is there a chance of deep sport massage and acupuncture.. which can be really useful :)

The runs will be there.. I got back after a calf tear..it was slow.but the runs do wait!

Heal soon x

Thanks for the well wishes :) I'm going to do the home exercises and stretches that the physio gave until I see her again in 2 weeks and will def ask about that then. I reckon your mantra of slow and steady not just for the jogging but also the healing process!

It does work for many things. I followed the Physio advice to the letter... and when I did return to the runs I did exactly what he said...

This is my return to run post and may entertain you whilst on that IC..:)

Working on your stamina and strength and doing what you are able, whilst not running really does pay dividends.. :)

Very sensible decision to go to physio... two weeks is ok, if you’re back then you won’t have lost anything... good luck and enjoy the exercise bike. We will hopefully see you out there again soon.

Yep was definitely a good idea - probably would have been better if i'd done it a couple of weeks ago but ssh...! Im certainly not the first to put it off!

They’d have probably still said two weeks off!

Aww, no what a shame! But at least you were sensible and got professional advice. You’ll be back out running before it! 👍
