At least you've recognised you are in a well! Now you can start climbing out! Best of luck!

Got to wait 2/3 more weeks for hip to totally repair, but I am walking a mile or so a day, but oh so slowly ! I get out of breath walking so a jog is a distant dream at the mo! Onward and upward eh?! 👍🤪

Welcome.

Assuming your surgeon has OK’d this... you can do it... this guy did nhs.uk/conditions/hip-repla... and then some!

You may be 66, but 5 years on the couch isn’t as bad as some of us... I did 30... so in that respect you can also do this, and we have graduates who started this 10 years or so older... in fact one of the handful of guys worldwide who has completed 500 parkruns is 82 and started running after 70.

Weight loss isn’t going to come from just running. If you haven’t already met them go say hi to the wonderfully supportive and very knowledgeable people at Weight Loss NHS on here... I lost a lot of weight a few years ago and they’ve forgotten more about it than I ever knew.

Thanks!! That’s hugely encouraging.Looking forward to this challenge SO much, must wait for few weeks though, but I am doing a slow mile a day. Speed is my issue, I’ll get there!👍😲

Speed won’t be required here... slow and steady is the best way. Hope all the prep work goes well... we’re all here for you... we will cheer you on every run and when it’s not great you can cry on our shoulders. Between us we’ve been wherever you’ll be on this journey... keep posting on here and good luck.

Good for you for getting off your butt and getting moving!! The only way is up! Take it steady the only winner if yourself. Make sure to keep us updated with your progress
