Time of day

Im up to week 3 run 3 next and I’ve realised that running is much easier if I go out as soon as I wake up in the morning. Any other time of day means too many reasons not to bother. Is that the same for everyone else.. or do you have your own special time for running?

For me, the thought of getting up even earlier shakes me to the core. I like to get everything done for the day and then collapse in a heap!

It’s my best time too - no time to argue with myself! Gonna have to get a head torch now though

I definitely prefer early morning runs, before breakfast. It sets me up for the day - I noticed that my energy levels are higher and I can concentrate better too. My routes involve trails through forest, which can be very dark, so headtorch is an absolute must for me.

Absolutely, I go at 5.30am and love it! The kids are still sound asleep 💤 there’s no one else around, just me the foxes 🦊 and the pavement. Nice photo by the way 🙂

Thank you, I’d never seen the park that earlier before I started C25K 😊

I'm the exact same, I need to run early in the morning otherwise I will talk myself out of it.

Also it's actually a lovely way to spend time with Duck before I go to work. and I spend the rest of the day feeling like I have achieved something. I just go to bed an hour earlier the day before to accommodate the loss of sleep.

Wow - all you early birds! I like to go out after work. I spend all day looking forward to it 😊🙂

I’m also a ‘get up and go’ runner. I now stand at the front door waiting for it to be light enough to go out 😂😂

I run at the local lakes and the thought of running in the dark scares me!!

Getting a bit tight to get to work though

Completly with you on that. I have to do it before my brain wakes up, so roll out of bed into clothes, keys, phone, out of the door. I haven't left the house when it is dark yet - that feels a bit challenging
